Impact of KVK

KVK, Katihar is working through the different mandatory activities as training, location specific problem based On Farm Trials, training for extension functionaries, production of quality planting material/ seed and demonstrations of high yielding crops, vegetables, fodder, nutritional garden, fertilizer management and cash crops etc. Along with above activities KVK, Katihar is also working on different training as

 

Practicing Farmers

 

trainings have been conducted on crop production, Horticulture, Home Science/Women empowerment, Mushroom etc. The impact of training has also been analyzed time to time which shows that technical skills of the farmers has increased considerably. The technological advancement discussed and taught during trainings are being implemented by the majority of the farmers in their fields. In order to strengthen training programmes at KVK, Katihar we have prepared several Posters, Photographs, Pamphlets, Technical bulletins and success story. To make the farmers more sensitize towards agricultural advancement, special emphasis is being given on under various projects of KVK.

 

Vocational Trainings

 

KVK, Katihar in commercially important areas of agriculture. Most of the training of rural youth were related to skill development in Gardener fruits and vegetable preservation, stitching, mushroom and poultry farming which have given tremendous impact in the respective area in terms of improving their domestic income and nutritional security.

 

Training of Extension Functionaries

 

KVK, Katihar Training of Extension Functionaries training almost all the areas of agriculture(Jute), and horticulture (Coconut) including poultry and mushroom farming have been covered and discussed thoroughly for their capacity building.

As the impact of all above activities more than 15000 farmers of district are being benefited by single or collaborative activities and technologies. The area near by the KVK is known for vegetable and fruit production in the district due use of protective and other production technologies. A large number of farmers adopted high yielding crop variety of seeds.
